Katipunan is a single long avenue with two universities on it, and nearly everything along the strip exists because of them: bookshops, cheap restaurants, coffee places that stay open through exam season. Condominium towers have gone up steadily to house students who would rather not commute. The street is busy in term time and noticeably empty outside it.
